The last thing to do before turning my engine the right way up on the engine stand is to fit the sump. Yesterday I drilled, tapped and fitted the oil return and cleaned the sump up but didn't fit the thing as I'm not sure whether to remove the windage tray thats in it.
It seems some people have, others haven't.

Here's my sump (prior to cleaning etc). I put it on and gently tightened it down and tried my hardest to turn the engine over (haven't got a special tool so had to resort to jamming an 18mm spanner between the front pulley bolts). It doesn't seem to hit the crank at any point.
Can anyone give me a bit mor insight?
Many thanks chaps..
