Moderator: martauto
Hi chaps, got a little prob i need some help with.My check control coolant light came on today so i pulled over and checked it and all was fine.I had a head crack on my last 2.5 but when the coolant light came on there the coolant was low and my oil was all creamy, neither has happened this time so why has my light come on?It did happen whilst i was giving it some welly so would that have caused it?

Pull the plug off the sensor and use a piece of wire to short together the two pins of the socket.
If this makes the LED stay off when you switch on the ignition, and the coolant level is fine, then you need a new sensor.
Coolant eventually finds its way into the central plastic stem, and eats through the very fine wires to the reed switch.
