my sport has a oil leak from the sump. took to a bmw garage and they have said it is the sump gasket. to change this i will need to lift the engine.for them to do it will cost me around 150 pound labour just for a 10 pound gasket.does any one no a other way with out lifting the engine.....

you either have to lift the engine. (not take it out if thats what your garage are suggesting?) or drop the subframe while supporting the engine where it is.

as said above, the engine does need to be lifted! 150 quid at a bmw garage is prob only an hour or 2 so dosnt sound un reasonable
