Hey all, my mates e36's bonnet wont open :(

Now weve tried taking the release lever off and pulling the wire manually with no joy. I think one of the springs by the radiator is not releasing, is there any way of manually undoing these springs? Iv removed the kidney grills to get better access but i cant really see a way of getting at the spring.

Any help much appreciated!!

Your on the right track Ben - there's 2X release mechs on them, 1 either side of the kidney grill position.

Once the kidney grill is out (with out breaking it) you should be able to play about with the mechs whilst matey pulls the cable until they release - the exact procedure is unknown to me though

Good stuff mate, will definatly have to catch up at ace some time in the near future.

Since finishing uni iv been travelling a fair bit so not been on the net much.

Got my M3 out of storage about a month ago so iv got the bug back now :) She badly needs a good service and a few other bits and bobs before she gets driven too much but will definatly get to some meets and track days over the summer.

Oh, and the e36 is sorted too :D
