hi we have an e30 320 m20 engine and want to turbo charge it to liven it up a bit, can anyone recommend a turbo kit for this car and any other information we may need doin this project. can the stock engine be used with no internals changed on lowish boost settings around 8-10 psi??? have been looking at kits from the usa on ebay but am not sure if they are any good. thanks

throw in a 323i crank and pistons, to begin with. you will get quite some extra torque. then i would start thinking on getting a turbo there.

its probabyly easier to put a 2.5 engine in your car from a late e30, they have a lower compression ratio, and are quite good to turbo on standard internal, one of there engines can be round for around 150 - 250 depending on condition, but it all depends what ur budget is?

yeah we would be up for putting the bigger engine in if the gains were better and you can run boost relatively safely on it. im confident in the whole job as im a mechanic but only the engine mapping that is bugging me at the moment,

I'd be interested to see what a turbo 2.0 M20 can do. It's a very short stroke engine (66mm) and very tough. I can't see why 200 bhp isn't achievable?

i have a 2.5 engine for the car so this will prob be the engine i will use now after reading through the forum, if i decided to use megasquirt engine management would this be a good setup? im not interested in huge hp gains as long as there is power and the car is driveable and fun.
