only thing have done is changed roof lining, and allso opened the boot and closed again, car idles ok but at 1-2k in any gear at full throttle it sounds like its running out of juice, allso pops and spits after 5k again like its running out of juice, seems ok between 3 and 5k car in question is an e34 m50 525i sport and has been fine before roof lining change, car has done 160,000 and never missed a beat. can anyone please give me advice on what to do? things i have tried is:
reset dme by disconecting batt for 30mins
checked all plugs
checked oil
what should i do next?
e34 m50 missfire lack of fuel spitting etc help

ill have a good look over on monday, anyone else had this problem on an m50? allso is there any fuel wiring in the roof of an e34?

lol thats a relief! would it do this if some one put somthing up the exhuast as out side the scrappers where i got the lining they can be bad for things like that! as the yard is behind housing, not the nicest people in the world! have looked with tourch and ratteled but cant see or hear any thing.

Is this a vanos engine?
The thing with faults like this is its very hard to nail down the problem without swapping bits, M50 diagnostics is very basic and not very helpful, the ECU on mine (M50 non vanos) didnt even show a fault code with the cam sensor unplugged

m50 non vanos, think it may be the rubber connector of coils as one is snapped in half inside hope this cures it all will know on monday when i get six different ones to play with!
