Hey guys just wondering who of you own the lovely old school CSL. always loved them, but since seeing some BEAUTIFUL race prepared CSL hooning it around donington on monday i have become slightly obsessive.

Good choice, you have excellent but expensive taste 8) There was one at a recent Goodwood track day i attended, the owner was in his 60's and had owned the car for 20 years. It had M30 535i set up with Motronic injection system and he was keeping up with my re-mapped E28 M5; to say the man could drive it hard would be an understatement 8O .

The E9 3.0csl evolved over its racing years and had many different engine sizes, it was an excellent road and race car. Few good examples remain today, they rusted unbelievably badly :( . They also, according to the guy at Goodwood, had a nasty habit of slow roasting the driver and passengers with the exhaust system actually burning the carpet along the propshaft tunnel and no amount of sheilding solved the problem.

I have the older and bigger sister, the E3 3.0si this is the saloon version that has the same set up as the E9 3.0csi, giving 200BHP and all the comforts that a saloon offers, this car in my opinion was the M5 of it's day, and i love her

About the only places you are likely to see examples of the CSL now are at Gaydon or Munich Legends, you'll need very deep pockets (full) to own and run one of these.
An E30 touring, two E28 M5's and an E28 528i.

I'll just take the money for that out of my left pocket, now where to spend the money in my right pocket for the 'bat-mobile' wings?

I had a nice Inca orange '72 CSL a few years ago. I sold it, it had an engine bay fire and the insurance company wrote it off.
It is however being rebuilt and with luck, will be back on the road in 3-4 months. They're a bucket of scrap really, but look great.
