One day I'll finally get my M50 swap done and will hopefully be able to enjoy the fruits of my occasional labours.
Was just thinking that my early non-vanos lump will probably feel pretty average after a few months.
Bang for buck, N/A tuning is pretty poor. So that leaves turbo or S/C. I've never been in a supercharged vehicle or if I have it was not memorable enough. But i think the linear delivery of the supercharger would again have me thinking it wasn't really that fast compared to the shove at the horizon and ever increasing surge from a turbo.
Turbo seems to be the more potent dream. I think I have probably got the better option for this with a non-vanos lump and reasonable cams as standard.
DIY, what do you reckon are the costs of doing a reliable 7-9psi turbo conversion on an M50. Would you chance one of those ebay manifolds with some bracing?
What are your thoughts gentlemen?

I'm pretty sure an M50 will make the E30 quite 'nippy'
But with turbo you can just keep turning the boost up. And spend more. Until you're finally happy. Even though the bank manager might not be

Turbo thoughts already? Its not even in the car and your getting bored!
My advice is to stop thinking about it and fit the fooking thing, then you should be able to decide the next move for yourself

Mine still feels quick, the power is just about right for an E30 IMO.
You get used to it, and crave more in certain situations, but thats standard procedure really

I have a centrifugal supercharged M52b25TU in mine and im allready bored.. you might want towards 300kw for true entertainment. but youll have to decide what the car is going to be used for... 200RWkw in a 1 tonne E30 for track use is great i think.
