I'm nursing a rather large semi! I think we've had a right touch on this wagon. Seems to be better than i remembered but i had that good feeling as soon as i saw it like you do sometimes when looking at cars

Here we go then. "We" and bro-in-law have bought this between us mainly because neither could afford it. She's done 169k cost us £2700 and i think it's a good base to many a tidy car without spending thousands.

Image
First job, throw on my spare front spoiler off the other C2 sitting in the garage as it never had one fitted from new

Image
much better

Image
Image

Image
going for a spin as i didn't get to really give it a shoeing when i test drove it last week as it was raining heavily

Image

Image
tyre pressure sticker is off a B6 3.5 which is strange

Image
No dash plaque, very odd aswell but no record or sign of it ever having one

Image
Offset top mounts yummy, seems to be rare on UK cars also from what i have seen

Alloy wishbones fitted also still! Having a longer poke around it has revealed no rust in the normal areas which is a touch, even the battery tray area, sunroof tray and underside of roofskin, scuttle, rear arches, front floor pans. The tailgate is f**ked and theres a bit on the sill on ones side. The alpina exhaust system seems to be still fitted as the pipework looks alot larger than a normal 325i system plus it sounds lovely

Original cylinder head is on there with the stampings

Pulls like a train typical alpina grunt but i'm sure a good service will yeald some more ponies. Will be good to get it on the rollers to see how she is.

So overall i'm really chuffed, bit of a random purchase but another one found. Lets get her to a meet soon and give it a pasting!

Well done for saving it si. I reckon, source a decent drivers seat and talegate, sort the sill out and give it a damn good valet. You gonna use this and finally wave bye to PYF?

Cheers guys, no my trusty touring is staying for now. I think i'll bide my time and see if i can buy the other half later on but i can't see that happening anytime soon.

Tommo no 6 branch and no sign of one from new either

Where do i find them? it's all luck and going for the cars which come at the wrong time usually! I think the trader who we bought it off helped as he didn't have a clue what it was and didn't really care. All he said was the phone was off the hook with calls! I think he put people off a touch from viewing which was good for me! The fact it was 15 mins from my house meant i had to have a look and the rest is history as they say!

My plans are to mince around in it. Give it a hiding at santa pod and take it to the ring. I don't know what my bro in law is going to do, probably kart about his kid!

Insurance as always is proving tricky ground!

Just a little update on the wagon.

I drove this as a daily a while back for 3 weeks as it's good to do to find out all the probs/niggles etc. And i'm pleased to say it's not a nail despite looking a touch tatty in places but it has done 170k. The best part for is that everything works which is rare bar headlamp wash wipe but who's does!

Engine is peachy and pulls very nicely! It's actually the first E30 i've had where i'm not gagging to 60/40 drop it and add my council streak to it. Instead i've serviced the engine right up, cambelt, waterpump, tensioner, plug, dizzy, rotor (these were originals :? ) As it was running a bit poorly but is sweet as a nut now.

I'm working my way through the suspension now, i've done the rear top mounts as they were hanging and a passenger front wheel bearing as it was howling! TCA bushes next and some front drop links.

A little clean today and a play with a couple of the pics!

I've just learnt this arty bit to trying it help sh!t photos!

Co-owner mug shot!

I'd like to tidy up the bodywork paint a touch so i can stripe up the fooker!

it's nice, 2 toys and both worth playing with.

being an estate is an odd toy but it's good to take to the dump like yesterday with some old council 3 by 2 paving slabs!
