I would, and nearly did 8 years ago! A purple 323i (was silver) with a 2.7 with some sort of schrick cam, was a loony car!

My original plan/dream for years was to build a Hartge e21 H35 335i replica but I'm loving the m20b25 turbo.

A motorsport convertible by any chance?
I'm in 2 minds.

1st mind. "I'm buried in mine and it's a well sorted, very original car that needs very little spent on it from now on. Finished if you like"
2nd mind " Don't be a coont. I'm sure I have a buyer for mine at good money. We are talking about a manual Msport in the excact colour I've always wanted. Not sure if this is strictly true (I'll have to do my homework again) but possibly only 1 of 25 (manuals). The chance may never come up again"
1st mind. "Mines a non facelift which I actually prefer as a purist. It was the original model of e30 penned and thats how it should be. Looks more of a classic."
2nd mind. "The msport is a full facelift, the rarest convertible alone without it being an msport in the 1st place"
1st mind. "The msport does need work. Thats more money again on top of the additional cost of buying. JUST from the photos it needs another wheel refurb, it's got council dials and a chrome e36 gear knob (enough to normally make me walk away), front end wants painting (BARRY????) and from the shots it's on a non standard pipe. It's been stated "the hood is still good" but from the shots I can see that it's the original hood and nowhere near the condition of mine (and we all know what I'm like)". And thats just for starters. It's got just under a 100k up so we all know that the heads gonna want some work soon (it may have been done but I doubt it). How long could I live with suspension looking like 90k old? Refurb anyone?
2nd mind. "its a rare msport car etc. etc."

and so it's gone on, all night, f*cking with my head. I just don't know.

It's easy to say "it's not a lot of dough to put it right" but right now it's my last priority to spend money on. My cars sorted, full stop. It should need no more big money spending. That alone lets it stay in the garage as my toy. anyone who's married will know what I mean. And thats not detrimental to the wife as she's an angel about it all. BUT, with a young daughter and her education, a house that needs a bathroom refurb, it's all about priorities.

But then a mauritious with lotus white leather? Oh my head hurts!

An M30'd TURBO'd e21 whould be even more so.

Matt. Don't listen to si. He can't even decide between nice glossy original subtle diamond black or gay, up the arse, blue!

E21 323's are the dogs. When I was a young, we had an excuse to smash cars up. 3 litre capris were a f*ckin' animal in the wet. You had to treat them with respect, a bit like a 323i. THEY taught US to drive. You try putting a Mk4 manual 2.3 Cortina Ghia into the roundabout at the bottom of the mad Mile (a217 banstead) at 65, 5 up, in the wet! It's bloody scary. None of this namby pamby ABS and LSD's. You have to ask what excuse todays young guns have, smashing up their 1.4 Saxo's?

When boy's grew to be men eh?

e21's were rubbish even bmw knew that. Thats why they spent so much effort getting the E30 "right"

Revised suspension meant a car much safer on the limit in the wet. Well better anyway, plus they look twice as good

New touring could be on the drive Tues/Weds
