I've got my 315i shell that I want rid of for cash

are there any companies that will collect the car from me and pay me or will I have to take it myself and weigh it in?

if anyone could list some companies they know/use that are as local to Birmingham as possible

also does anyone know roughly how much an e30 shell is worth?

TIA

i scrapped a ford escort last week and got £165 for it but i took it to them.it weighed in at 1150kg's. im not sure if it would be worth cutting up and trailering it yourself rather than getting them to collect?

I think around birmingham you would get about £80. but i know the scrap man so i let him have my cars for free as he collects them when i want. You trying the suspension tommorow snoops give me a bell if you get stuck

You have no chance of someone collecting a shell and paying you! A vehicle capable of lifting/transporting a car is expensive to run, unless you have a mate who is passing you will need to dispose of it yourself

scrapped a beetle shell last week. it was totally stripped of everything so not much metal. I just went to the yard arranged a time and he came and got it. Didn't get anymoney for it but was happy to be shot of it :D

just check yell.com and you'll find plenty of scrap metal merchants then just give them a call and arrange collection

i fragged my 316i last week, phoned a number that i had seen on lots of cars in the area advertising collection of unwanted vehicles. i got 20 sheets even tho i took lots of bits off. he had to lift it from the back end as i robbed the diff out of it.

What do you class as a shell? A shell will fetch about £20-£30 ish. If it is just a bare shell, i wouldn't expect any cash if you want it picking up.

i wouldnt have classed mine as a shell as it still had the engine and box, plus interior, although it was in a bit of a state since i rushed home from work and nicked random bits off like the headlamps; fogs; rear lights; parcel shelf; heater box; ecu; wiper motor and linkage; coil; front grilles and some switches
