Sorry, when the work was being done, the body shop was extremely dirty and I didn't take my camera in

Thanks for moving them Simon.

The arches are new but they were Coupe arches and have been reshaped as the lower parts are different.

did you use beevers panals for the whole job? i'm really in two minds as which to use because there is such a massive price difference between them and bmw ones

Mark325Cab did you get your arches from bmw ?

My arches came from beevers mainly because of price. The BMW panels fit better than these so it means that you have to do extra work to get them to fit. More beating, welding and filling. Whoever does it for you has to be a reasonably competent panel beater or you could end up with a messy job. The BMW panels are far better but whether you buy them or not always comes down to your budget. I decided on copy panels because I have a lot of work to do on mine and I only have so much money to put into it.

The Rear Right wheel arch has been screwed into place ready for welding up over the weekend. It doesn't look too pretty yet, but it will.

Image

Whichever "Boy Racer" owned her in the past has rolled the front wheel arches too much and now there is no metal left, shame about that but at least it will be right when we've finished.

Image

More detail on that rear left wheel arch, the jigsaw can be seen a little more clearly here. I hope that it's not too distorted so the work can be seen when it's finished.

Image

This is the Rear Right wheel arch. It is a beever pattern panel from a coupe, so it has been beaten into shape. It will fit with a bit more hammering and cutting.

Onwards and upwards, Mark

According to my paint guy - Steve, Betty has been filled down both sides now. The aerial hole is plated and filled. All of the wheel arches are now complete.

The whole car is ready for primer, unfortunately I couldn't get down there today to take some photos but there will be some more up by the weekend.

The wheels are remaining 15" BBS, refurbed black centres with silver rims.

Fitting some pieces of trim

Nice, straight lines down the body

Image

Lovely shot from the rear, see it is a Scorpion Le Mans - lovely growl

Image

Image

Refurbed wheels - the centres are the same colour as the car - charcoal. The caps will be added when they have been sprayed. I'm sticking with the BBS 15" as they are original.

Image

Aaaaargh......! Now I have to continue with the interior. So far 6 coats of Kiwi boot polish and 8/9 coats of olive oil to soften the old leather. It is soft now and black, still more to do before I fit her back in though

Before anyone points it out, I know that the front (directional tyres) are on the wrong way round. They haven't been balanced yet after refurb and will be swapped over.
