I'd like to think that will be the case Simon, but I've made a note of the part number of the genuine BMW rear box, just in case.

It's on again. I'm now one of those who say that Scorpion rear boxes are not much louder than genuine BMW ones. Mind, we didn't pack it as tightly as it was originally - that may make a slight difference.
I have to say though that an old fogey like me probably wouldn't want it any louder.
I've still got enough packing to do it again if necessary.

So, the bottom line here is that scorpion boxes start off OK then their cheap/unsuitable packing chars until its a solid brick and effectively seals the pipe into a straight through? I reckon you should send Scorpion your results and offer them some consultancy work!

That's about the size of it, but to be fair the box is 10+ years old and I don't know its history. Apart from the carbon-clogging issue, the inside of the box is in excellent condition.

I reckon you should send Scorpion your results and offer them some consultancy work!

When I 'phoned Scorpion and told them it had carboned-up, they would have re-packed it for me if I had the invoice from when it was new and was the original owner. Can't knock them for that!
I doubt I'd need to send them the results - at least one of the lads down there is a member here IIRC.
