Ԛ£3k is the starting bid mate. He's been trying to sell this plate for ages now. I've seen it advertised from Ԛ£4k all the way to Ԛ£7k which is M3 money. I personally cant see anyone paying that kind of money for it as it can only really be used on a E30, so isn't that great an investment. Not when you consider that most E30's donet even cost half that money and DVLA sold that plate for less thanԚ£1k. I know cause i had the opportunity to buy it but i opted for E3 BMW

The other thing about this plate is that it is of course mis-spaced. Drive around with this around where I live and and you will get pulled.

The actual E30 BMW is the plate to have. I met the guy who has it at a Lakeside meet (he works for BMW and has a mint 325i Sport) and he paid about Ԛ£4K for it if I remember.

Personally, I wouldn't bother and would buy another car (Black Tech 1 Sport) for that money and if I want a plate, I'd just buy one of those Ԛ£49 non-dating plates advertised in the back of the 'trader.

You're right there beeem318i. I had D4 DYB on my car, but spaced out to read D4DY B and i got tagged so often that i canged it a couple of weeks ago to E3 BEN. If you happen to run into a traffic cop having a bad day, he could give you 3 points, a fine or both for having mis spaced letters. In the worst case, DVLA can take the plate back

Bootyman - I've had mis-spaced plates in the past, been pulled and even had the cheeky fcukers take a plastic ruler out and measure the spaces before giving me a 'producer'.

They lay in wait for me as I wasn't speeding or anything but had fcuk all else to do...so boom onto my tail, siren and blue lights. It was in a busy road and they were just trying to humilate me with the ruler thing. Everyone was rubber-necking on the road as they drove by and crowds suddenly appear from nowhere. Now, I just don't go there with the number plate thing.

If I can afford a proper plate then fine, otherwise I leave it alone - it's not worth the grief imo.

I've been lucky with my plate, never been pulled. Even spoke with a local cop about it, thankfully he was human! and said don't worry about it

I wish I had three initials or a nickname that can be put on a plate but I don't.

I take my cars to cuizes and stuff and that's when they really go for you. They see you as a waste of space, so if they can do you for anything, then they do in the hope that you wont come back again. I wonder what they'll make of my D17UGY plate now

love the D plate

I have thought of buying J1 HAD as I am a muslim (technically) just to wind up the security services.

I work for HMG anyway and I still get sh1t at airports especially goin' to the States.

I swear one day I will wear a skull cap, Yasser Arafat stylee scarf and grow my goatee beard and drive with some prayer beads hangin' of my rear view mirror. With a plate like J1 HAD on it...I know I will get pulled as they think I am about to commit suicide and blow up a shopping mall or something

DVLA have only releases E1 - E20, all other E plates go under the hammer at the DVLA auctions.

my mate's dad had a good beemer plate before - "350BMW"

He did actually have it on his M6, but then ended up on a variety of vehicles including a VW Transporter Van!!!ffs!

Think he got about Ԛ£6K for it when he sold it last year.

As Mark said only E1 through E20 are readily available, for any other numbers you have to fill in a request form (it was on the website but I can't find it anymore ) and hopefully it'll appear in an auction and you can bid for it.

I requested E302 AYN / E30 2AYN (name's pronounced Zayn/Zane so the closest I'll get to "Zayyan" on a plate :)) but they didn't put it up for auction :(

I think if you've got more than 2 numbers in it they won't bother putting it up for auction unless it clearly spells out something, that's what I've gathered from the list of reg marks for sale in the "next auction" bit of the website

Re J1 HAD I heard they'd banned the sale of that plate years ago along with anything with GOD etc. in it.......the DVLA really are no fun aren't they?

I saw the D17UGY plate in that other thread when Ben changed his plate due to the police hassling him but still don't get it......can someone spell it out for me? :?

If you put a dash or a dot in the middle of the 7 it looks like a R so it looks like DRUGY D17UGY

think that's supposed to spell DRUGGY?

best plate IMO is the one Steve Parish owns, which is one that obviously slipped through DVLA

If I was gonna have a Zane plate it'd have to be ***2ANE really.

I don't really like Zane though as it's too far from the real spelling......yeah I am fussy!

Cheers for pointing that out though :thumb:
