Iv just bought a fuel boost valve (ebay) Item number: 280219855089 but I dont know how to install it.

The unit has:

a fuel in
a fuel out
a vacuum port.

Do I need to get rid of my OEM regulator? Which line do I pipe, from the tank or to the tank?

???? Thanks in advance!!

P.s its a 327i (325i head)

Oh cool. they should issue these to Scouts and sell them as fire starters.

Any particular reason the BMW regulator isn't good enough? Just wapping more fuel in won't make the engine more powerfull.

If you must, no you don't need the OEM regulator, your replacing it with the fuel boost power fire starter incendury device special. The rest should come with instructions but fuel in comes from the fuel tank, fuel out goes to the engine.

Will a power boost valve help much or be any use for a reliable turbo set up, especially one with big power (as it sounds like thats what you want)?

It seems the OEM regulator is connected in the end, at the pipe back to tank, so i remove this and reconnect the pipe to the point where the regulator connects to the engine?

Ebay says it will!!!!!! Im not really looking for too much power (well, i am, but the budget...)

The valve came with a gauge 2 so its nice to see wats up with the pressure. Iv crazy probz with the engine at the mo so Im trying to replace suspected parts. Its revving from 900 - 3000 by itself at idle and while driving. Iv cleaned the intakes and replaced the idle control valve.

I can see it now. Big fat bright orange turbo....drip drip of some fuel from a nearby badly made regulator....

It'll all end in tears.

OK, seriously - just throw it in the bin and put it down to experience. What the guys are trying to tell you is that it was a waste of money.

Best thing to do is list up your engine's symptoms under a different thread and hope that one of the experts gives you a helping hand.

God dam ebay!!! It didnt come with an e30 adapter. guuuuuurrrrrr.

I know its not gonna just give me more power right away but I do plan on spending a couple of grand on mods so Im adding bits so I can tune my setup once everything is up and running. Im getting a turbo setup with injectors. Now I can view and play around with fuel supply. Im gonna have to educate myself through e30zone for this project. 3 months holidays coming up and an unexpected check for ┚¬2300 means TURBO E30 327i

Thanks for all the replies fellaz

Hey mate, I've not fitted a boost valve but they work along the same lines as a fuel regulator, I've got a mk1 escort with a tuned engine and put a fuel pump onit to fed the thirsty carbs and i needed to put a regulator on to well... regulate the pressure. These are adjustable as well. Filter king do an adjustable regulator. If you plan on running bigger power then ya right you do need to up rate your standard fuel pump in my eyes. I don't know alot about bemmers but i know a standard escort injection pump ain't no got for fuelling a cossie lump or a high powered cvh turbo.

FFS, if you plan to spend several grand doing a turbo conversion you'll be needing either a standalone ECU or a proper remap to get the fuelling and ignition right, the power boost valve won't help in any of these situations.

Fuzzy mentioned a while back that he'd had people refuse to work on his car while it had a power boost valve, several other members have had engine fires caused by these things, hell I used to have one as well. Bin it or sell it on again on ebay.

It's a waste of time on your car.

Cheers,

Jon, Adam and I were talking about his powerboost valve the other day, he mentioned that Mark and he were chatting while the bonnet was open and engine running and they heard a wierd noise, turns out the power boost flame thrower was on fire (albeit a small one), Adam patched it up and KEPT it! He was complaining to me the fueling hasn't been right for ages :D .

He bought a new BMW one and is fitting it this week thank god!

eek. 5k? Fcuk that. ld love a turbo e30 but I really dont want to get into replacing the internals. That seems like proper big bucks. Maybe I should start a new thread "If you had ┚¬2300 what would u do to your 327i?"

Oh and the power boost valve,... I suppose il get rid of it then!

On another completely other different note,. does anyone want to buy a performance enhancing fuel power booster?

Yep, twas a while ago that Adams sport nearly burned because of that POS... I've a feeling it happened again though?! Or it may be someone else that was foolish enough to keep one until it caught fire twice.

I pleaded with him last night to change it, he just phoned me tonight to say Ant said it may be the problem also. Good thing he has the stock one on the way.

Lesson learnt, lets hope OP's lesson isn't learnt when his car is a smouldering pile of shite.
