Insanely (!) there's no socket to accept the C/C loom in the accessory panel!

I doubt that has anything to do with it but the question remains.
Why would they make a loom that cannot connect to their own provision cluster?

I've heard of people taking a feed off the brake pedal switch but that's not proper is it?

All connectors are pretty straightforward.
Clutch switch at clutch switch, Computer plugged in, Stalk connected properly, earthed properly - the last plug which goes to the provision panel does not fit anywhere there - I've read of others having this problem.
I'll take some pix.
The loom and stalk are brand new from BMW. It's a 1992 Touring.

i can't remember exactly where the cruise plugs go in the accessory panel but why don't you find a breaker and cut off some plugs in this area that fits. Cut the old ones off and solder in the ones that fit?
