Recommend good Tyres

hi all!

Can anybody recommend a good tyre for my 325i cabby. What are the decent makes out there . I have heard that toyos t1-r are a good tyre. does anyone else have any reccommendations and decent stockists in the birmingham region?

Just bought a pair of New Falken 205/55/15's off ebay - £65 plus a tenner to the scrote in my local tyre place to fit & balance them. Seem pretty grippy so far but then I'm not used to new tyres

i know they're cheap but i swear by Nankangs! people get all snooty about tyres but i swear to god my Nankangs have been ace.

Toyo's are a decent tyre for the cost of them

avoid yokohama advans like the plauge if you like fast driving in the wet because they're pretty skittish

Just bought a pair of Runway Enduros 205/55/15 for £70 all in. They look good and seem to grip well.

It all depends on your budget really.

go for toyo if you want decent grip and good value for money, the t1r is a slightly harder compound than the t1s so should last a bit longer, or if you have spare cash go for michelin pilot exalto2 or conti sport contact

dunlop only seem to be any good if they are sport maxx or 9000's, the fast response etc are pooop

My first longish drive was 45 miles to the Lakeside meet, peeing down with rain and it felt really positive.

I find the road noise levels really good too.

My e30 came with pirelli's no complaints and will replace them with new pirellis.
although there was a discussion in evo magazine, goodyears came out well overall, price performance etc.

Italian super cars have the tyres specially produced for the car. The standard off the shelf tyres are no better than anything else. So unless you can fit 335/35-19's on your E30 then Pirelli's are no better than Toyo's.

i have got a set of toyos T-1Rs got them bout a month back pretty good tyres if you ask me (full set off black circles for 260 deliverd i think) which aint bad they hardly slip in the wet not bad on road noise and havnt worn atall yet !!!

Dunlop SP Sport 9000's ... great grip wet and dry, pretty quiet and I have done about 10000 miles and they still look new.

i've always used toyo's or yoko A539's used both kinds on my 2 litre 16v corsa and rs turbo and found them good in wet or dry.

I've got a set of Toyo proxes 4's (the replacement for the T-1S), cost me £240 fitted for 215/40/17's locally. They're a very grippy tyre even in the wet and are wearing well, I'd have no hesitation buying them again.

i dont hear any road noise with my straight through exhaust and hissing from my dump valve

Just bought 4 toyo t1r's for £131 delivered. They came next day as well. Good old camskill.

195/50r15. Crate of carling to the local garage and i'll have 4 balanced wheels. Perfect.
