Karan, thats with a Gtec meter I take it?
325i doing 13.9 is impossible unless there is serious modifications done like turbo's or changing to a bigger engine.

14.5 sounds about right with yours Karan.
I generally don't trust the G-Tech.
I think that Ian's car would be quicker than that.
The times for the Red car with Black bonnet were disappointing in Total (?) BMW.
They were disappointing for all the cars......the black 400bhp ZMCoupe, over 6 seconds, that's terrible, way slower than factory.
In reality you are slower than you think!!

I dont trust the Gtec at all. I dont think karan's car is only 0.5 sec slower than Ian332i's car to 1/4 mile.
The Bexley motorworks car done 14.6 but thats got a good 20bhp over Karan's 2.7.
Looking at it from a different angle though, 1/4 mile times are highly dependant on driver.

1/4 miles are very dependant on driver.
Seen some exotica get caned at the Pod because some people can't drive.
People launch at idle, and I just laugh.
Going to the pod soon, and I'll take the G-Tech to measure accuracy.
My Civic did a 6.57 second 0-60, and keeps doing times between 6.5 and 7 seconds.
I'm the first to say....Is it bollox accelerating that quickly.

Michael Cowling was driving it and he really monstered it off the line. It was wet though, I forgot about that.
C2 2.7's are officially 15 secs 1/4 mile but they do use standard 325i box and a 3.64 LSD so maybe your 14.5 isnt far off at all. Your didnt feel any faster than my C2, it sounded faster though......

not had mine on the strip yet, but I know I am going to be disappointed when I do. Reckon low 15's for me, maybe nudging into v high 14's, but mine is just 325, so no slipper or close ratio 'box
am going to santa pod on 3rd july to retro cars show, may take it on then if I have changed cambelt by then, but am really nervous doing it at the pod as I am quite a considerable distance from home if I damage anything. York dragway on my doorstep, so may be there on the 17th July weekend as there is a load of E36 boys going. Not been much interest on here so far though.

Eevr raced a proper 325i karan? I think it might surprise you.
If an E46 M3 only gains 3 car lenghts upto 110 mph then a car with only 30bhp less than yours would be very close.

to bring it into terms u might understand a standard 3 door cossie wont do better than low 15's and theyre rated as fast cars

Don't know to be honest mate. I think it comes more from spectating when you watch a 15 second car do a pass, it doesn't really look that quick. It does make you see why there's always loads of lads there with novas with the XE lump in them or the turbo cally lump as they never fail to give cossies a bloody nose. Power/weight ratio at the end of the day really I guess, and the ability of the driver to get the car launched properly, which I suppose is where we have an advantage over the FWD crew.Chaos wrote:why would you be disappointed with that ?E30BeemerLad wrote:not had mine on the strip yet, but I know I am going to be disappointed when I do. My fave car that I see at York regularly is a black Audi S2 - running about 500BHP and about 480ft/lb. Manages high 11's on a good day - very impressive to watch
