Just gave my new 325i Touring a good wash and polish. Really pleased with it as i've not had an e30 for about a year now so i've forgot how fun they are.

Needs a few things doing but all in good time. Sorry for the bad pictures, I only had my camera phone with me!!

Is that rust on rear tailgate? It's so annoying and I had to replace whole tailgate on mine.

Looks good, so take more pictures.

Ok, got to work on the beast today and decided to tackle the headlining!!

As you can see from the pics, who ever had it before got soooooooo annoyed with the headlining they just chopped it off!

Image

Image

I sourced a second hand lining (which was filthy and had mould on it) so i carefully peeled it off from the board, put it in a bucket of bleach and hot water, scrubbed the hell out of it, then put it out to dry (in between it raining).

Image

Image

While that was drying outside, I got to grips with the inside of the touring. Thanks to Brianmoooore for the write up of how to get this down :)

Now the material was dry it fits perfect over the original board.

Just got to glue and tack it down now and put back in the car. :D

It wasn't to bad actually. It needed to come off the board as that was manky also!!

Yeah comfy leather with heated fronts... :)

I've got some spray adhesive which i've tested and seems to work. I'm going to spray it on, tack the sides, then with a paint roller go over the whole thing. Think this should work.

I thought it would all end in tears, but i'm quite surprised!!

My headliner is sagging in the boot area aswell, but i never have time to do anything about it :(

i used vanish foam cleaner to great effect on mine, it was manky but came out pretty good. the foam action meant i didnt need to scrub too hard so i didnt damage it.

sounds like an advert lol :D

Mine is sagging a bit at the back and a little bit grubby, I think I am going to take mine off and dye it black, then put it back up properly.

Give her a cloth and some leather cleaner and get her involved then as she's probably feeling left out :)

Gave the beast a good seeing to today!! Out with the seats, good hoover inside, leather cleaner then on the seats, gave it a wash, then did the bumpers etc, then it rained!!

Gonna get the tappets and belts done next month and a service next week.

Very good work. It's hard to beat doing the thing right. I was planning on dying the headlining in my touring. I'm not as scared of the idea at all now.
