Depends how much power you want.

I would look at brakes and suspension before a turbo though.

exactly,
think i have spent so far with turbo conversion, brakes, bushes ect, around the 8-9k mark, but i have gone overboard with everything. still need to do the bodywork.
it could be done for around a grand depending on how handy you are. you could get around 250hp.
this is what i was meant to do, but the bug bit me....

8-9K jesus far too much for a reasonable set-up i would say the average is about 3K yet again as Mr Jhonno(Dan) says how long is piece of string.
it all comes down to budget

Sorry fella, but a 1K turbo setup is a joke.

I spent £1500 on my 1st one, ECU and turbo bought new, everything else made from scratch, all spannered by me.

Expect to pay in excess of 3K for a fitted RELIABLE setup, using BRANDED turbo not XS-Power Ebay shite

in short, with the available £Â£Ã‚£ its a pipe dream....

Harsh, maybe, but true....

If you are very lucky and handy on the spanners/wireing you could possibly do an M50/52 swap for that too, but the car would also be faster A-B if you spent that £1K on suspension, brakes, bushes and makeing sure that the engine you have is healthy...
