Just rang my insurance, currently 19 with 2yrs ncb and im paying £1000 for a saxo vtr, and they said an extra £375 for a 318is BUT i have also done a quote on a daihatsu charade gtti.

For those who arent in the know theyre a 1litre 3 cylinder twin cam turbo, 0-60 7.9 secs 123bhp per tonne. My insurance only wanted the £35 admin fee for one of them!!!

So decisions decisions decisions.

Im with brentacre btw, very good insurance company. I have a 100bhp limit on my vtr and free visual and suspension modifications, means i dont have to pay to declare them.

Try Performance Direct and ask about classic insurance on a limited mileage. You wont build up any NCB but if you get a low or reasonable quote then its not much to sacrifice.

Plus have you driven a Gtti? They're great fun but made of chocolate and unless you've already got to grips with lift off oversteer, you're dead. They make 205 1.9's look like a shopping car.

The iS will make girls fall at your feet, money and power come your way and everyone will think you have enormous genetalia.

Plus they were crafted by the hand of god himself, so regularly reported to bend the laws of physics, and single handedly ended world famine whilst not rusting

You forgot to mention the engine which is so powerfull in 5th gear at full chat the vehicle stops moving and instead moves the earth about its axis until your destination is beneath you and it does this whilst single handedly reversing global warming. Merely expelling cute fluffy bunny rabbits, rays of sunshine, chocolate buttons and fluffy pillows from the exhaust. :D

Incedentally you know when your old because when you play that game where you get qoutes on silly cars just too see what they would be (incedentally mine was a 3.2L V8 Twin turbo) the fully comp qoute comes back at less than £600 :D

By the same logic its time to retire supercar dreams and sink into the pipe and slippers routine when you think £600 insurance for any car is outragous!
325i Tech 1 Touring, breaking.

2.5 high comp. M20, 3.64 LSD, Fully undersealed, Spax springs & Bilstein shocks, s/s exhaust, Alpina rep wheels and more.

Try E car insurance. I am 21 with 3 years no claims and they came out at £270 for a 318is. Online only but if you don't intend to crash your own vehicle, you have the bit of paper that says you can drive legally on UK roads.
