Just watch everyone say.......Ԛ£200.....maybe Ԛ£500.

Ask the same people how much a sport is worth and its ........ Ԛ£5000 mate even with Rust under the bodykit!

Sorry!.......just having another dig, its all good fun.

Its worth what someone will pay for it. I would have paid Ԛ£2000 for my current 320i because it doesnt need to visit the bodyshop and it doesnt need anything major mechanically.

Aaah Brother,

its not super super mint but its damn good.

Ive got 2 tiny dings to take out, thankfully not in that visible areas.

The bonnet has the normal E30 dings which I have no idea how they get there so I might change the bonnet and get it sprayed.

Other than that it is as good as it gets really.

I had a guy come upto me yesterday and say "Thats a nice car mate".

It doesnt look anything special to be honest, its just a clean E30 on BBS's but people do notice a clean car from the usual boy racered crap.

All it takes is a good bodyshop who dont charge the earth and concentrate on prep work.

I can get something like this done for around Ԛ£1000 exluding the roof. If there are rusty bits and big dents then it will cost more.

Piece of advise, if you have dings in your doors or they already have filler then go to the scrap yeard and try getting hold of ding free fillerless door.

Same goes for the wings.

The end result comes up much much better this way and you dont go no waviness down the sides.

Frosted,

without seeing a car you shouldnt put a price on it. It may be an exceptional example and the open market suddenly pays alot more than Ԛ£700 for it.
Ԛ£700 buys a shitter end of story.

Harry still has the 2.7. He decided to keep it after such little interest because its in Ireland.

He also changed his mind after driving his 325i sport and then jumping back into the Alpina........the Alpina had much more go even with the much longer gearing.

He is thinking of sticking in a 3.91 LSD. He bought a BTB manifold off me aswell and thats going on the Alpina. Great car that is and its very quick.

I think he might do a MAF conversion to it at some point and then start terrorising the GUG. 8)

Blah blah blah... Sport's are worth Ԛ£7k all day long... blah blah blah... SE's are just as good... blah blah blah... in fact SE's should be worth MORE than Sports... blah blah blah...

Getting boring now.

It's what the market dictates. You cannot de-value Sports by moaning about them all the time, or indeed raise the value of ordinary 325's.

Personally, I think M3's are over priced, but I don't go chomping at them at every opportunity. I would still pay the price they are commanding as that's what the market allows them to be priced at.

totally agree.

the reason sals mates alpina got sod all interst is it was not priced correctly. like me saying "THIS car is worth 20k" and wondering why noone wants it.

a cars value is based on what poeple will pay. MOST sane people dont pay more than a cars worth. the reason sports go for silly money is becuase they are fast becomming into classic car status.

a 320 however does not.

so its worth not a lot.

nothing wrong with the 320. e30s rock. its just not worth a great deal

(oh and the 2nd hand car market collapse that has been going on for a while now dont help )

My first E30 was a G reg 320i SE, she served me well, although i began loosing power on the other side of 11000 miles...could have had done stuff to sort that out at the time...1 i didnt know much about them and 2 just wanted a change..and 3 i was broke at the time..lol

Anyway long story i sold it for Ԛ£1250...
It was deteriorating in my view....paint, body etc....Had nice tints ....big ice and phat alloys...so i guess that''s what gave me that Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£.

Go for it.
You can always upgrade later.

Frosted,

you think it was over priced? I think Ԛ£3650 was not a bad price to be honest.
You got a really clean straight E30 with full Alpina spec minus the front spoiler.
Most Alpinas in that condition go for around Ԛ£5000, this is Ԛ£1400 cheaper.

What do you think its worth?

The biggest problem he had was the fact that he is Ireland, he got so any enquiries but as soon as they found out its in Ireland that was the end of it.

When i sold the car I had phone call after phone call. Harry bought the car very quickly and I just kept getting calls on it. it stirred up alot of interest and I know I would have sold that car quickly even if Harry didnt offer to buy it on the first day I advertised it.

At the end of the day we can argue all day long but different cars mean different things to different people.
Someone who has been planning a 2.7 knows his 2.7 wil cost Ԛ£3000 to get built. Therefore if he find a complete Alpina for a bit more its worth it to him.

In the eyes of most people Alpina's/M3's/SPorts are all too expensive given the age and technology of the car but due to them having a demand in the market they have more of a value.

Anyway, as a final comment I will stop slating sports now, it was only done to make a small point which I have now got accross. Everyone knows if i found a decent sport in dolhin grey with straight panels I would buy it.
Infact there is a 220bhp dolphin grey sport with a bexleys engine in it floating around for standard sport money.......and its in excellent condition with Hartge wheels, Eibach suspension etc etc. Exactly what I'm looking for!

i may have got my wires crossed.

i was under the impression it was 4600 or there abouts.

the only reason i did not get it. Ԛ£3650 is a VERY nice price.i cant belive he did not sell it for that money. like you say good sports seem to go for that money. was the price dropped after i talked to you about it?

becuase that care was the perfect spec in my eyes. and even tho its resheelled im not SO anal to realise for that money its something special!!!

i cant belive he did not sell it for that money. like you say good sports seem to go for that money.

not fuc*king around i would travel to ireland to buy it.

assuming it was the black reshelled c2.7 with all the alpina bits and black with red piped leather>?

best regards,

Frosted,

yeah thats the car. Its had so much money spent on it after me. Harry was very particular and really tried to make the car into something thats like new.

Maybe I done a typo error of Ԛ£4650 but he wants Ԛ£3650 for it.

Its probably going to more like Ԛ£4000 now because he just fitted a BTB 6 branch to it which he bought from me.

I will PM you the details of the car if your still intersted. I dont personally think its worth over Ԛ£4000 because it is a reshell at the end of the day and this does affect the value to some extent no matter if your being anal or not.

The big big mistake I made was I should have bought a 325i sport and transplanted everything into that. The car would have had some serious value then.

Harry might actually fit an MTEC2 kit to it, I think he has the bits already.
