Chrome!!!! -How to remove it

Hey guys, hope your enjoying your this undisturbed sunday afternoon

My friend just purchased an e30, I havent seen it yet but according to the spec its a nice specimen.

I know Cliffy wont be too happy about this but theres one thing my friend doesnt like about it.

It has chrome around the arches

He wants to remove them.
So here are my questions:
How can we remove them?
By removing the chrome, will the paint come off?

I guess it depends what's holding them on. Could try some gentle heat maybe?

Some are like 'wrap around' I think, does the chrome go underneath the arch, with a nut or screw to hold it on?
Don't think they normally stick to the paint.

I havent looked at the car yet, Im going to go see it later in the afternoon. I dont think it is screwed on, because in that case, it shouldnt be too much of a problem taking them off

Hey guys, right, Ive had a look at the car and the chrome is riveted on if that makes any sense.

How could that be taken off? Its not like normal screws which you could just screw off
