Brands Hatch Pics

Karan and I went to Brands Hatch today for an afternoon trackday type thing. Was a really good day out, and the circuit itself is very enjoyable to drive even if you are constantly turing right! I did have one big 'moment' coming up to Paddock Hill Bend where I locked up at 115mph and it went sideways a bit but I kept it pointing the right way (ish). A good bollocking was promptly given when I got to the pits!

Also met Cragles there who was with a mate giving his 306 a good thrashing

Twas £129 for three and a half hours of open-pit lapping. Well worth it in my opinion, need to factor in wear and tear to brake pads/tyres/engine/spine etc, but sensible things like that are very boring!

Not bad. Do you have to have a roll cage fitted, or will just a skid lid do?

No cage required, your car just needs to be roadworthy, or there abouts. If you like the smell of other peoples sweat you can hire a helmet at the circuit for £10. Go for it, you WILL love it.

To be fair Malcolm it was bastardly cold yesterday, think you would have got bored freezing your harris off!

Cheers Jon, I certainly am a weapon LOL Served various chariots, but then again was done by various other cars! Karan in particular, his Silvia is just soo fast on the straights! (he's also pretty decent through the twisties even though his car is determined to drift) I'm tempted to swap my m30 for an s38 to try and catch up!

Handling was good Dan, very easy car to drive. Uwe's adjustable top mounts were given there first track outing, and served me well, set to full negative, though not sure exactly what that is, 2.5 degrees? Also got a tiny bit of toe in on the front, which supposedly works well on the e30.

looks a great day out, should have mine finished in about 6 weeks. first thing i do is book a day at brands.

car looks good mate, mines an old dog but should do the trick.

did you drive it or trailer it there, also what spares should be taken.

Dan, the car is really easy to drive, due in no small part to the tyres. Loss of rear end traction was not an issue, the heavy front end is noticeable but not to the extent where it makes hard to drive on track.

Stevo, car is road legal, and driven to the track. What spares you take are down to how confiedent you are in the car I suppose. I took a spare pair of wheels/tyres, fluids, and a few bits like waterpump, clutch slave, dizzy/rotor, leads, fan belt etc.

theos car handles sooooooooooooo well much much better than my big six e30. I think its down to the cage and the tyres. the shell on e30s is sooooo bendy.

what cage is on ures theo and do u know where i can get one for my turd (i know u got lucky woith ures 2nd hand)

It's a safety devices cage, I think zaust has a contact who sells them. Did you get any pics last week?
