1. Sell it as a track car for someone
2. Register it as a UK car (then sell one of the other two)
3. Swap the 327 motor into the Cab, then sell off all the spare bits
What do you think?

Shell is good for a 1988 car, hardly any bad bits. Never had or needed any welding. It was built for the German market, I don't know if that makes a difference.Jhonno wrote:whats the shell etc like on the touring? is it a proper 2.7?

Seems like this is all pointing one way ...tailoutcharlie wrote:drop it in the cab mate, people will pay top dollar for a rot free touring shell, even a LHD one.

Good thought, and it was a 320 originally.march109 wrote:Just a thought, you'd proabably be able to sell the touring faster with the 320i engine from the cab in it!

I think I've read that thread, but surely the cost of shipping is too high to be worth it for him.d6dph wrote:There was a guy from the states looking to buy a touring w/o engine.

Point taken, but what positive advice do you have, given what I am dealing with?Jhonno wrote:my thoughts also..Simon13 wrote:why fit a 2.7 in a saggy scuttle shaking cab?!
2.0 is fine for a cab

If he is that keen, and it seems like the perfect car for him? I agree that the cost would put me off.tomze30 wrote:I think I've read that thread, but surely the cost of shipping is too high to be worth it for him.d6dph wrote:There was a guy from the states looking to buy a touring w/o engine.

Was just going to say similar myself. you will be suprised what a LHD turd will fetch on ebaypacerpete wrote:A 2.0 engine is worth zilch, a touring shell is worth zilch . On the other hand a LHD touring with a running engine has a value. As long as you have some paperwork , stick it on ebay, you might be suprised what it makes if its tidy. Probably a good deal more than a similar RHD car.

you obviously didn't get that memo ziggyZiggy wrote:It is? Ooops.Jhonno wrote:my thoughts also..Simon13 wrote:why fit a 2.7 in a saggy scuttle shaking cab?!

Obviously the 320i Cab is reasonable for the use it gets and doesn't 'need' a bigger engine. But have you ever had a love affair with an engine that was built from the block up, and no-one else has used?march109 wrote:At least this ay tomze30 can sell the touring withought enigne, problem now is B20's are worth buttons.
