i cant find it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

all i can see is the oil pressure one (im assuming as its next to what looks like an oil filter housing)

under the lower section of the inlet manifold on the M40 dude.

there are two, the 2 pin runs the ECU, the single pin( brown coloured ) is for the cluster

assuming its dead as per your post on the Tacho, I'd say the SI board inside the cluster is Fubar.

normally top of the engine toward the front and under the inlet manifold. there are two one brown (for the temp guage) and one blue (for the ECU engine temp)

Before digging your way into the sensor, take the 20 pin engine loom plug and socket apart (beside the fusebox) and short pin 4 of the lower half to a good body earth (rear bonnet bracket), with the ignition on.
This should make the gauge go to full hot. If it doesn't, then the sensor is not the problem.
