Check out the length of the inlet from the AFM! Goes all the way round the engine bay.

I think newer turbo conversions work alot better. Well they would to be honest, better technoology out there now.

Still, very impressive!

just realised it does 'only' 6.4 secs to 62mph....sounds very conservative to me.... cos even my car does that with a mere 200hp.....i reckon this turbo beast would get into the 5s easily////

times the kw"S by 1.33, then you get your bhp output.(i learnt that from when i stayed in australia)

320touring, you cant compare this car to a 4.5 cerbera. you mentioned the standing kilometre time. but a 5 second difference is a big difference.

I was wondering about the performance figures too, even the 100-120 times aren't that much better than standard (considering the performance increase) and I don't think the standing km time is any better (maybe even worse) than a 3L E36 M3 which has about the same power, less torque, and more weight. The standing km shouldn't involve the driver's ability so much either.

Maybe they are just guesses?

Still looks good though. I think the mark on the door is the reflection of the painted line on the road, although looking at the front bumber maybe not?

Cheers Stevin, could you send some pics of Evo II's to cilkwurm (at) hotmail dot com? (250mb account, so space isn't an issue)

I've just bought a silver one in NZ.

The Evo I's got the alu panels, and the Evo II's didn't, correct?

Correct, the Evo1's had the Aluminium panels... I think they saved 20kg.

On the front of the car, thats a sticker that says Apline Developments (the company that Turboed the car) . Then it looksl ike it is scratched on the bottom of the spoiler, thats a Splitter, that extended back to help cure the over steer problem.

Rumour has it that these cars were factory backed... but I can't seem to find any info about this.

If u go to www.dtmproductions.net and go to the feature cars, there r 2 pretty hot E30's there. one's a 2.9lt 325iS Evo2, running on 18"... owned by Jughead. The other is 333i Turbo...owned by Dion... both pretty potent cars.

Also some more info, Alpine Developments is known to make turbo conversions, that don't boost more than 0.5bar... cause they say they they do conversions for ppl, who want a small increase in power, but don't want to sacrifice power

thats correct, this car turbo was factory backed by bmw, therefore the power figures dont seem AS impressive, remember with the conversion, you could still keep your warranty
