Just wanted to say thanks to Sal (M5 Pilot) for organising these manifolds,
it looks top quality.
All I need to do now is to soak my nuts in WD40, unless anyone has any other tips for removing the old one without snapping studs.

Cheers

Matt

Sounds painful! LOL

I was expecting the worst when I took my manifold off but after the initial bite was gone they all came out by hand!

That was lucky!!

I snapped 4 out of 12 on the M30 taking it off, mind u it's been there for 23 years or so... now all i need is a stud extractor to get the rest of it out and that's more scary, if they break then its drill and Helicoil time...

btw use proper penatrating oil, WD40 is a water dispersant, not a freeing oil :p

You were lucky, I think I'll apply a couple of buckets of penetrating oil to mine

also it's best to do it with the engine as operating temp or as hot as u want it to get. Personally i would get someone who is experienced in it to do it.

Does anyone have the correct torque setting to re-tighten the nuts with?

Assuming I get them off in one piece.

Thanks for that.
One last thing, is it worth salvaging the gasket or should I be only fitting a new one?

Gaskets are pence anyway, as a rule anything you take off that has a gasket or a sealing ring on it should be replaced when refitting, same with locknuts.
