What is the best exhaust manifold to use ?
I can get a 323 one

as thats intended for the E36 I think the rearmost manifold will still foul the steering Ed

easily modded, as per the late E36 OE ones,

you could buy a cheap 6 branch to suit the e30 rhd and cut the flanges of and add M50 ones, that would defo fit as the port spacing is the same( although wider for the 24V obv )

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-E36-6-CYLINDE ... dZViewItem As Ant says, the rear one will almost certainly foul the steering column, but, if you can weld stainless steel, it may work if you cut of the flange, remove most of the single pipe between the point where the three branches meet and the flange, then weld the flange back on at a slight angle to tilt the downpipe away from the steering shaft

I will get the engine in and have a play with a m20 6 branch I have.

This is the m20 6 branch fitted to m50 engine and the bit of wood shows where the steering went on the m20 so it might just work.

No I hadnt seen that.
I was looking at what they done when the alfa engine was fitted.
They moved the steering over abit.

Got the engine in today.
Tried to fit the m20 6 branch the rear fitted ok but I cant get the front manifold in :(
