= blue temp sensor, like it would on an m20, or is something else more likely here? Are the temp sensors the same as m20 ones?

Could just be unsetled because the car is an MOT failure or its clostrophobic and knows its not in its natural habitat anymore.
But temp sencer would be my guess. The scrappy in poole has an M30 in right now, unless its been sold whole.

I think I can stretch to a new one
What have Trents got in then? Could do with a better fan - E34 aircon jobbie would be nice. They were full of insurance storage $hite last time I went up there though.
& it got its MOT quite happily the following day...
It felt so wrong to let the garage do the brake pipe but hell, I was feeling lazy - that's why it hadn't already been sorted!

You sure?
Trents keep alot of stuff locked away that you need to ask for! They also have another site closed to the public. All the good scrappies have closed down now round here. Only other one worth mentioning is the one I told you about before, they break alot of BMWs and put the parts on Ebay.

Still not sorted the gasket - it seems to be losing less water now though
- did over 300 miles at the weekend, & didn't even have to top it up. I guess it closes up as soon as it gets warm - it leaks when you just squeeze the top hose when cold!
It's using too much fuel though. Owt else I should change other than the temp sensor (although it does run fine hot & no dodgy emissions on the MOT test)? I drove like a saint at the weekend & only managed 23mpg! That's virtually no better than previous trips (same roads), when I was erm... enjoying myself a bit more.
I need to sort that out before I do the head gasket. Losing faith in this engine as a long term prospect. Still goes nicely enough, but I dunno...
Fan's just some random Bosch thing I had in the garage - can't remeber where it came from. Need something bigger though.
