Hi Gordon

Just to point out that 20 April is National "Drive it" day - aimed at classics drivers everywhere

IMHO this would be a good day for the meet because of this

This is most unselfish of me as I can't do 20th - can do 27th though

So far you're the third person saying they can do 27th easiest, Richard, so I think it's probably a better call for that.

No offence meant, good call for Drive It day, are there any classic meets to go to for that then? Or is that considered "park it in a field day" rather than "drive it" day?

The Weymouth Vehicle Preservation Society organise the annual Quay to Quay on that day - this year it runs from the Poole Ferry Terminal to the Weymouth Terminal - I think the Bournemouth guys come back to the Classics on the Prom behind the BIC from 4 - 6 (although this apparently is only for pre old A reg cars ie pre1983 I think)

Yes it is pre1983 only which counts out all the regulars at the southern meet.

Think you'll find the mighty 1.8 turbo french turd was showing up som eof the e30's last time, and I garauntee it delivered more mpg.

Anyway this meet should be in something more exotic from my stable.

If Emtech have worked some magic on the car and cured the horrible metal on metal noise then I'll try to come to this one. Timing chain tensioner possible culprit but until they look, who knows. As those of you who have a sick E30, you can understand that fed up feeling. Will let you know Gordon. Jackie :(

Regret that I will not be able to come on Sunday as my car is still sick. Emtec cannot do the work until 1st and it is the timing chain etc so costing big bucks. Wish that were all .....I've decided to replace the horrible exhaust with nice quiet BMW original....wish that were all but no - other bits and pieces too. Ah well, it will be wonderful when done, and new MOT.

Apparently, there is another white H 318iS having timing chain etc done the day before at Emtec - unsure if he's a Zoner, but I expect he is.

Have a good day on Sunday Jackie
