I have a set of alpine components with a 16cm main driver, while I wait to fit them properly in the front would it be ok to use the tweeters and crossovers with a standard set of alpine 13cm speakers i have already installed?

while i've got your attention,

I have a vibe amp/sub combo all in one box, I want to be able to remove this occaisionally (its in a touring). can anyone recommend a suitable connector for the side trim. I want to be able to just unplug the power supply and earth as the rca cable can just be pulled off.

most important it must be SAFE.

Long rambling post i know, but and help would be much appreciated,
cheers peeps :thumb:

Chris

You'll be fine if you hook the tweets/x-over up with the existing setup for now

Can't comment on the second question

the second part to your question could be resolved by using a suitable 3pin plug, for example you could try using the solid connectors for extending lawnmower power leads they are strong come in black so you wont be able to see it and they are water proof if you ever get a leak

You could just remove the fuse for the power cable, and then they can be removed.

When i built my system i bought some PA jacks used by pro musicians to hook up audio gear for concerts from a local music store, little expensive but worked really well !!

cant decide whether to do a plug for just the live and earth, or plugs for the whole lot, the power cable will be coming down the drivers sill of the car and the rca and remote turn on cable down the passenger side.

Do it only for the power and the earth, use a simple bullet connector for the remote wire and get some covers/bungs for the rca's

Kettle lead would work well, it has 3 wires going throuh. Male on one end..Female on the other...n jobs a good un.

This Is what I done as I screwed the amp to the box, hence no need to worry about disconnecting the wires to the sum and only one thing to carry out.
