Anyone know the mpg figures for 318i manual.
Filled up mine last week and after doing 130 miles of gentle driving filled it back up and it cost me £23 to refill, so 130 miles cost £23, this can't be right can it.
Anyone know what i should be checking if my car is using too much fuel?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Kurt

No just the standard 318i 4dr manual.

That is 29mpg.

What were you expecting to get from it, more or less?

It depends how much your paying for the fuel i guess! With it being around £1.15 a litre you don't get far on a £10 these days.

Aound town my 318i does about 130 miles to £20 of juice at the mo, from a full tank on a proper run I can get 350 miles out of a tank!

Think i'm too used to getting 50mpg from our a class diesel.
Cheers for all the replies i'm just gonna tan it everywhere now and get some enjoyment out of it, rather than trying to eek that little bit extra mpg out of it.

I have an Efficient Dynamics 320d (which is an auto) sport touring and I can see 57mpg on a run in that, so I know what you mean.

I do 30k miles a year, to do that in the 320d costs me...

Car £398 a month
Fuel £230 a month
Tax £10 a month
Total £638 a month

to do that in the E30 would cost me...
Car £80 a month (it is paid for but have to take into account servicing and replacing parts which is free on the 320d)
Duel £525
Tax £20 a month
Total
£625 a month

So that is the running cost for a £1000 20 year old car vs a £32,000 car bought at 3 months old with £3k on the clock.

To be fair the 320d figure used is the best it gets and the E30 mpg figure is the average figure, but it was just to show that overall costs for a car are more important that just buying a cheap car, they might not actually be the cheapest overall.

You have forgotten the biggest cost in motoring with a new car...... Your £32k car isn't going to stay at £32k for long with that mileage.

Who spends £80 a month on an e30?!!!
