Hello Peeps A newbie here
Great site. At the mo I run a 91 8v mk2 gti. I have always liked E30 beemers. I am wanting a 90-91 325i sport.
I have a few questions
What is the std power of the 325i sport
What can I do to the engine i.e Chip,Cams etc, I mean cheap basic mods to get started with.
Thanks. I Think i will keep the dub though as it the most fun car I've had.
But a bmw is calling my name very loud.
Cheers
Paul

Welcome aboard. Standard power is around 170bhp. The engines respond the same way as most NA engines to the usual stuff - cam, exhaust and chip.
Best options are the above plus a big bore throttle body.
It will release maybe another 20bhp if you fit all those parts but personally I dont think its worth spending money on these engines.
The cars are lovely cars to drive so I'd spend the money underneath instead and have something that will make you grin every time you drive it.

whashapnin mk!
welcome to the Zone dude
uԚ´re sure to find all u wat to know about the E30 right here, and mabey even pick uԚ´reself up one at a good price
without doubt, this site will convert u from the dubness
iirc
, the 2.5 is at 170bhp and the 2.0 is at 130bhp. best "mod for wad" is a Zone chip, available for Ԛ£55 plus postage from Ant, and are available in 2 flavours, mild and beast. beast is probably only for those with modified engines with cam work or similar alterations.
the mild chip is a refinement, with a little kick to it too, and more suited for those looking to get the best out of their engines
also available are "big bore throttle bodies" or BBTB for short, and these increase the amount of fuel available to the engine obviously, but also increase its ease of drivablity. This coupled to a Zone chip makes an exellent and affordable modification that will impress.
Anyway, enuff of the wanky Egay sellin waffle
show us yԚ´car!!

fair play bruvs, sorry tohear Ԛ´bout the redundancy thing, on the up son!
as for the golf, solid car , cant knock it mate. but u need a bm in youԚ´r life.
adam means , suspension work and bushings to get a good feel to the car before making it more powerfull, and renewing the brake pads and discs if ness. as youԚ´ll need to stop quicker
have a butchy in "the for sale section" for a car when the time is right. rest assured cars sold onthe zone by Zoners are usually v.g condition cars mechanicaly and otherwise

Spot on. I was going to do the bodywork on my car next but I think I'll concentrate on the suspension so I can enjoy my freshly rebuilt engine to the full!johnono wrote: adam means , suspension work and bushings to get a good feel to the car before making it more powerfull, and renewing the brake pads and discs if ness. as youԚ´ll need to stop quicker![]()

There are a few cars I would like but dont know were to start tbh
A3 or a mk4 Golf.. For the engine really never had a turboed motor
Vr6...Golf
E30 BMW... Have always liked these. the others just dont do it for me
G60 corrado...I think these are cool
TOURINGDADDY... I wouldn't mind a tourer, Apart from a Audi S2 And RS6, They are the nicest estate cars.

more welcomes
IMHO forget the A3 or mk4 Golf - my brother had a mk4 GTi-T and it was rubbish - slow and heavy; only 150BHP?
my mk1 GTi is faster and handles much better; I've raced A3 1.8T's in it on country lanes too - bye bye Audi
VR6 very good, but a bit nose heavy and thirsty - I had a mk3 16v golf a few years back, 150BHP but because it is lighter would beat a VR6 off the lights (but then the VR6 would zoom past later on if the road was straight enough...)
A friend had a G60 corrado a few years back (after his Pug 205 1.9 GTi) - great car, but we went over to France in it once and the customs took us apart on the way back! - I guess we looked like a couple of drug dealers cos we only had a few cases of beer in the back
I think of these sorts of car, my choice would be a 3-dr 16v mk2 golf, or VR6 corrado (which I think had a 190BHP version rather that the 175BHP version in the Golf); both ultimate classics - the best derivatives of the 90's hot hatch and the 90s coupe
E30 is an excellent RWD car; learn to drive all over again, and they are now cheap; when you go to buy, just watch the sills, front susp turrets and rear arches for rust

The A3/Mk4 you can tune them up quite well cant you, Revo,Milltek, etc.
Vr6 Yeah I know about petrol, I probley would go for the golf 16v. The vr6 raddo is 2.9.
Lucky you wasnt' coming back from holland in it.
When I get money ill have a proper think.

mk28v, u just listed my top motors! spooky,
i've had a taste of nearly all of them, golfs & e30 win every time though.
my bruv's got a mk3 vr6 that went from standard to supercharged then supcharged to turbo. loadsa of hassle and dollar but hard works paid off, he's 0-60 at bout 5.3 and santapod last month saw him with a low 13sec qtr mile @ 108mph. 340bhp with room for improvement for 2wheel/front wheel drive hatchback is kinda fun!
love the corrado, got a real tidy one in our club (seasiderz), too many times i've had fun with a 2.0 16v when i had my old renault 19 (16v saloon) quite an even match considerin mine was a 1.8 and alot bigger..4 door family wagon! loadsa custom mods made up for it though!
e30's do go cheap now, doubt not much cheaper than mine though... a mere 50 gold nuggets 18mths ago from my hard up mate a crimbo!! ...sorted
.. luckily for me though majority of my chums are in the motor trade.. my fav currently is a paint sprayer who works for paragon racing porsche.. few pints & kebabs and he's agreed to respray for me..can't moan!
