M18 X 1.5.
Bit of an unusual size, but my local fasteners supplier stocks them.

Thanx Brian!

Have tried:

Brenmark
Southwest fasterners
Woodbury Chilcott

both no joy

Kebrell have M18x1.5 in nylock or lock nuts which are apparently the same but half the height, so the guy suggested welding 2 together?

What is your supplier Brian?

Many thanks

Andy

Andy,

If you can't find a suitable nut (or someone to make you one), you can get something designed for the job from Demon Theives and the like (Merlin Motorsport, GPR etc).

Cheers,

Ian.

My supplier is: John Taylor Fasteners, Unit 5, Gratton Way, Barnstaple, EX31 3NL (01271 373212), and, when I asked a couple of years ago, when the same question was asked of me on an LPG group, they said they would be willing to supply by mail order.
A fairly thin nut is all you need, so you should be able to get what you want out of a nylock, and shape it to fit the down pipe.

On my hottuning exhaust manifold there was a tapped hole that I asume is for an 02 sensor. It is the same thread/size as a 14mm spark plug...I got a blanking plug from my local Partco for a couple of quid,it was a Walker part.

M18 X 1.5 is spark plug size. I use a spark plug thread 'chaser' to clean out O2 sensor bosses as well as plug holes.

Any place that custom makes exhausts will have one*, and they will probably give you one for nothing if you suggest you are probably going to come to them for a custom exhaust :)

*For example maniflow in salisbury.

Thanx guys, much appreciated too Glenn, will bear that in mind for the near future. I had to get a few bolts for the rear box today, so got a couple while I was there. Great guy and loves the E30's more than "the newer BMW's" and was well impressed when I told him what I had done. He also has an R32 Skyline as a play toy :D

I was worried that the "half height" nuts wouldn't have much thread, but there is more than enough there I think :)

Thanx again guys :D
