Hello I have a pioneer KEX-73 radio cassette (component ) system from the early eighties that I want to put in my E21 or E9 coupe.
Does anyone know if I can connect a cd player or multichanger to this unit or if I can buy a multichanger with something called an FM modulator which will play through one of the radio channels ( yes it's got a digital display) . If so any recommendations as to whats the best make or any other help appreciated.
I have newer Cd/Radios but want to keep the car period.
Thanks Paul

most headunits can pick up Fm modulators. just spend a few pennies on a good one... you can also use I-Pod's with them aswell
multichnager are early 90's technoledgy so the possibilty of fitting one is next impossible.
hope this information helps
Regards
Ben

Hello Mate
I have what you have in the photo execpt I have the two small amps and not the GM 120 , although I am trying to buy one as we speak.
I have had these sets when they were new but I can't remember the model no,s for the speakers I had flush on the rear shelf ( something like ts - 203 ) dunno if you can remember .
Tell me would it be easier to use something like a sony cdx-444rf cd multichanger in the boot which has a built in fm modulator or maybe an equivelent pioneer one .
Is the sound any good from these fm modulator players that play through a channel on the radio.

The smaller amp was a GM-4. Speakers of the day were TS-168's, a 3 way speaker of Hero quality. I was running a set in the rear of my Mk1 Granada 3.0 Ghia until some filthy Pikey from Hampton Court Fair nicked them. I was running TS-108's in the front doors.
The set up pictured isn't mine, I nicked that off some french site.

Yes , I had the 168s but I also had a pair of two way or three way 8 inch or so( 200 mm) round pioneer speakers cut into the parcel shelf , they are the ones I can't remember the no's of . I thought it was ts-W203 but I believe that is just a single woofer.
Anyway thanks for the help
