Here are a few pics of the tourer.
Pretty much how I got it. All I've done to it at the moment is painted the wheels.

Needs a new tailgate (anyone got one?) tis a bit rusty! Towbar is going as soon as I can afford a new rear bumper without the hole in it!

Spec:
1.8i with (14:1) Head (can anyone shed light on this?
2.5i exhaust system
2.3i lsd
Bilstien Shocks and uprated brakes
e36 Quick rack
Lowered on H&R springs (40mm drop)
Sports "recaro style" cloth interior
M-tech steering wheel

Clocks top out at 139mph, is this due to the tyres being 195/50/15's?

I'm going to get it rolling roaded at one of the many events that are going to be on this summer. :D

I'm not a machanic, but I was told it has a double compression head. Running 14:1. Here's a pic of the side of the head. (as I said, can anyone shed light on this?)

Nice one! Hopefully I'll have my tourer looking nice in a few months or so when the cash comes in again. Looks good on the 15s, I wasn't sure if they'd look a bit too small on a touring, I think I might have to go for some now :P

Not gonna have a 14:1 compression ratio!! Pop city..

Never gonna hit 140 in a 318i  Would have been better off with the original diff for better acceleration. It would have had 325i spec front legs anyways also

Red on black looks good tho!

No. That number on the head is irrelevant to the compression ratio of your engine. The previous owner told you fibs :D

Quite good looking car, but:
1. It is Touring not tourer
2. The seats are BMW Sport seats not Recaro
3. The tyres are wrong (looks like 195/50R15 for me - shoud be 205/55R15) and that is the reason of optimistic speedo reading
4. It is just technically imposible that your engine will be running with 14:1 CR.

If your engine is the M40 which im guessing it is then the compression ratio is 8.8:1. I think the previous owner has spun you a line.
Nice car all the same.. :D

140 mph and your clocks are wildly inaccurate, probably because of the smaller tyres

As I said, I'm not a mechanic!

I'm looking for someone who knows what they are talking about and that can help me. So I know exactly what I've got.

Not sarcastic, irrelevant or critical comments!
