Cheers guys
I know they are never finished Si, i just like to pretend
Fitted some e46 m3 cab rear top mounts this evening, they are so much better. (i got fed up of a banging from the rear nearside corner, suspected top mounts, and found them both totally ruined, with the near side shock sticking up well into the boot! the rear sits a bit higher now by the look of it)
Got new inner arches waiting to be fitted now also.
Oh, and it goes into the body shop in 3 weeks now

Thanks guys.
Another load of work/stripping ready for driving to the body shop saturday and forgetting about it for a bit.
And yes, you can fit 2 rear quarters, a rear panel, a roof tray, 2 rear arches and a scuttle in an E30 - what a b*tch.
Check your sunroof drains lads...

And another little project - its just shy of 800cc on a go kart (390cc a side). I re-built the engines with new piston rings etc so should be quite fast. Im thinking of skimming the heads and if i can be bothered running it on bike carbs. Should be good for about 100mph! I picked up the chassis tuesday and mounted the engines today!

. John, comparing my effort to Si's pina is a nice complement for me
.
The kart is just a bit of fun, not costing a lot as i built the engines and will be for sale in a month or so to fund the sport.
Neil, i will when i take some

a quick q for you please
the picture with the headlights on; this page. the two bumper shocks i think they are almost directly underneath the headlights!
how easy are they to replace; because my bumper isnt lining up correctly; it sticks far too much inwards; but i did have a very very minor prang so i thinik its gone in?
do you have any tips as into what it could be?

F*ck me Paul that sun roof tray is the worst i've seen!
Make sure they use plenty of zinc alloy primer when fitting the new panel work.
What sort of time scale have the bodyshop said?
Are you having the whole car painted?

cant beleive that sunroof tray didnt drench the interior of your car through normal use
good work getting the panels in the car too paul, just enough left on the quarter panels by the looks of it, just dont have any sort of accident on the way up or it could get very messy in there, might even dent those lovely new panels, lol
No longer self employed but still available for welding duties.
Your doing it Matt? Nice one!beardymat wrote:dont worry baz, its in good handsbss325i wrote:F*ck me Paul that sun roof tray is the worst i've seen!![]()

Thanks for the support lads.
Yes the car will be in Matts more than capable hands from tomorrow. Barry I cant answer those questions, i just trust Matt with all that stuff!!
siddiqi1 - as far as i know you just undo the two bolts either side of the bars sticking forward, and pull them towards you. They are still available from BMW, but the rear ones are NLA im told.

Little update. Matts been busy. Still the other quarter and inner arch to come off the rear but heres so far:
Note the previous bodge of new arches over the old and lots of filler. I bet you will find this sort of rust on most E30's now, check for it!

Paul if you need the battery tray which it looks like you do it's £50 from BMW and comes joined to the chassis leg. I've not got the part number but on the ETK it's on the drawing showing the rear boot floor and rear chassis legs plus some other bits. You can just see it

yup, im going to clean up the battery tray and see whats left as pauls on a budget. had a look at it today and i reckon ill be able to rescue it.
not much progress since the photos im afraid paul due to having no power at my unit for the best part of two days, will update you with more pics when i catch up the lost time.
btw do you need the aerial hole in the rear quarter? dont want to go drilling those shiney new panels unnecessarily.
