Hi guys, I've searched but only found the usual 3 million posts mentioning an I.S :D

Whats the best chip for a 318is? How much? and are they proven to work? I've only heard of the Jim Conforti one so far. Whats the method behind chipping as in all my years I've never chipped a car, is it an RR, run as standard, chip , map and run it again to see the gains, or a straight pull out put in job?

thanks

Just a straight plug and play job.
Get in touch with Sal or Imran here of Evo-S and they'll sort you out.

There is even a thread somewhere that shows the gains that the 318iS chip provides.
I'll find it there in a sec for ya

Be careful with any chips you buy from the states, They run on a lower grade of fuel iirc.

I have seen comments that the JC chips can be supplied with maps to suit our fuel but it's still a bit risky imo.

167bhp from an M42? That's very very nice!
What mods does it have beside the chip?

did you supply the chip ?? or did fritz's bits supply it ???
as i think fritz's bits supplier is different than evolve chip ??

Joly shit!!!

166.9 with no mods apart from the chip and abit of tweaking to a few things
I have the exactly the same things done to my iS but I think it's a superchip that's in it.

To be honest, I'd get a second opinion for a dyno run. Even Kos's iS didn't make that power and he was running higher octane fuel and had a higher CR because of a previous head skim.

Still though, 166.9 is great amunition for the next 4 pot/6 pot debate :P

Any link for the chip you got?

I am planning all the above mods to my IS, removing heater plates and my chip is on the way. But can someone explain how to advance the inlet cam a small amount and is it some thing which can be done at home or is it a garage only job?

Thanks

Just loosen the bolts on the inlet cam pulley and advance it about 3-6 degrees

It won't help your low down torque or your idling but will make that 4K kick even more noticable from what I found winkeye
