Pop a post up in the Genuine parts section.

I thought OE BMW lockers were key type rather than a splined type though?

if they are genuine ones your dealer will have the master set witch i thing consists of 12 keys
if they are aftermarket ones any half deacent mechanic will get it off in about a minuite.

Early type are a key. Later type are a spline. £18 ish IIRC and you get 2 keys which is handy 8)

The splined ones have a number both on the end of the bolt and on the tool itself. You will need to take your V5 when ordering from a BMW dealership.

The splined ones are available from the parts dept
Take the car along so they can find out which one you need

My dealer said they'd give me the one from the service dept and just order up a new one for themselves

Quoted £4 for the key
Didn't need V5 or any other form of ID

As Spadge rightly noted, best to take along the V5 and your driving license just incase they want to check ownership/ID

Those splined ones are much better than the silly ones with a key.

BTW you can pull the key type ones off with a pair of big grips or mole's really easily.
