Been looking for a 535i manual for a while now, have been checking the bay and autotrader fairly regulary and not much seems to come up, loads of autos are kicking about but thats not much use to me as its for a 335 conversion. Do I need to get off my arse and go down the scrappy or car autions any good? if so how much are we looking at? I hear stories about people picking up 535i for £150 and breaking them for a profit to get basically a free engine, all i can find on the bay are council chariots for around the 1000 mark. Are the days of cheap conversions over?
I'm sure some of you guys buy and sell cars all the time and lots of people have done m30 conversions so someone must know where a few good places to start looking...
Any help appriciated
Cheers

If you can survive with LHD you can start to look for eBay.de and mobile.de where you can find a lot of E34/E32/E38 with a manual gearbox and big engine! To an example, I saw an E32 730i M60B30 with a manual gearbox for sale in Germany with a pricetag of 1000 euros and TUV papers in order.

We are heading for end of April dude and there is lovely spring time in Germany with dry roads and sun on the sky! Even the beer you get in the pubs there is holding UK standards so you want get disapointed when you go there. The drive bak to your house from Germany will you do with a big smile on your face!griff87 wrote:But then there is getting the car back to the ukTUV papers? Same as an MOT is it?
TUV = "German MOT"

Unfortunatley I'm 20 and so getting insurance on a 3.5 bmw will be a bit tricky, let alone abroad, then theres ferrys and petrol etc. It would be easier for me to get a cheap one local to me that my old man could pick up (on his insurance) then break it.
I agree with you tho its a really nice idea, but one for when I'm a bit older and have more money for adventures like this

Looks a little overpriced doesnt it? could pick a running one up for around the same money although not as well specced.
