Any idea what is a good chip to have fitted the car is standard (325is Evo2) What size exhaust is recommended for good performance currently have 57mm.

I think most people recommend the Zone chip. I don't have one but if it's made and supported by the guys on the Zone it will be good, probably as good as you can get.

The size of the exhaust depends on what you wan't to do with the engine. 2 1/2 inch (63.5mm) is probably all you will need for a tuned up N/A 2.5L engine or a small capacity standardish turbo. 3inch (76.2mm) would be best for a big highly tuned N/A engine or an average size tuned up turbo.

57mm is probably not too bad for a standard engine, you probably wouldn't get a big increase going to 63mm. Mandrel bends, straight through mufflers and a high flow cat might help a bit.

This is all working on a single pipe, some systems have 2 pipes and then you need to work out the area, Pi * r^2, for each pipe.

I have a 6 branch and 2 1/2 inch mandrel bent exahust with straight through mufflers which should flow enough for my N/A 2.3L and leave some room for modifications.
