used the front jacking points just over a week ago then noticed about 5 days later that it has bent the floor in both foot wells, like pushed a bit up and left a crease... whats the best way to return the floors back to to straightness/stop them looking so horrible and shit.

help

hmm hope its not dead due to rust that might get on my tits a little bit. but i wouldnt be suprised as i had holes in both corners of the footwells ...it is a 320 but with 2.5 dropped in and a welded diff (did have 3.91:1 LSD)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v249/ ... 010015.jpg back in january that was. looking suprisingly smart and tidy

not got the car at home at the moment so cant really have a mooch at how rusty it is round that area but i;ll have a damn good check tomorow thats for sure. if it is buggered i'll break it sure someone will like the wheels 8)

a bit late now but i always jack mine on the chassis leg as my jacking points were removed about 3 years ago. i don't know why bmw put those pointless jacking points on anyway. they are just a rust trap. if you take the carpets out and give them a good kick most of the front floor usually falls out. i wouldn't worry too much.
rotten front jacking points are just part of the fun of e30 ownership. just weld them up, put some fuel in it. enjoy. you can't pay for smiles!

they be 16x8 at the rear and 16x7 at the front

they may be up for sale soon anyway.

well i'll check where else its rusted tomorow. i dont have any carpets in that car anyway so that at least makes it easier to see the rust and holes. yeh the front jacking points i couldnt belive when i looked underneath there is such an obvious trap for rust to spring to life and start munching the car up.

alloy floor
5 bar tread plate

explain what all that means please

the car looks better in pictures up than up close it could do with a respray the boot paint has cracked.

and the interior is a total mess at the moment because i stripped it out. just needs welding then i'l paint the floor in black so it looks less like a sh*tter

i cant weld very well so im gona wait till a friend is free to come weld it up where possible.

Tada!!

Alloy is generally a mixture of Magnesium and Aluminium and is lighter than steel, same stuff alloy wheels are make from, although most alloys are heavier than steel rims due to size.

If you go with that your mate had better be a good welder :D
