TYRES

Just heard that my F1's may fall through. Two question then:

1. My tyre size on 15" crosspokes is 205/55/15, what if I go for 205/50/15?

2. Has anyone heard of the tyre NANKANG? Look a good tread pattern, but any good? Had loads of offers of different tyres but no actual advice, any help appreciated.

no get 55profile tyres as the 50`s are too small and don`t fill the arches so well,
also Nankangs are crap imo

my tyre recommendation is B F Goodrich Profiler G

i have 3 cars all with them on and my dad has them on his mondeo as well, they are really good.
won`t buy any other tyres now.

Apparantly the new Kuhmo's are extremely good in tests.

Nankang are the new Woosung.

If I remember correctly, Nankang use the old crap machines that Yokohama throw out.

Kumhos are OK for a budget tyre, depending on which ones you get. The KH11 I think it is is supposed to be pretty good.

Kumho has spent a lot of money on development recently, they're way better than they were 10 years ago. Some of the older Kumhos were pretty rubbish, I remember a full set of Kumhos lasting 4000 miles on an Escort I had. Yep, 90hp and it burnt the fronts off in 2000 miles. Rotate, burnt off in 2000 miles. Replaced with even cheap Sime jobbies and they lasted longer than the car, and gripped as well as the Kumhos had.

Thanks for the advice guys, the car is dropped 60mm, so i think that 50's will fil the arch well, see what happens i guess. Cheers for the site adive very cheap all in all.

I'm really impressed and they look nice too.

I have had the TS1 the onl;y problem being that they waer very fast on the outer edge and the new TR1 they have put an extra line of rubber round the outer to prevent this.

TR1 deffo.

try 205/50-15 toyo t1-s's. quality tyres and not too expensive, i've been running them for over 3 yrs now and can't use anything else. it always does 2 sets of back to one set of fronts and i have to swap the rears from side to side halfway through so they wear evenly due to e30 rear camber. it works out pretty well as it's like having new tyres again halfway through. give them a go. you won't be dissapointed. i definatly can't run 55 profile anymore. feels well boaty in comparison. i haven't run the r's yet but i'm sure they'll be spot on

Whilst on about tyres, i've got a brand new set of 195/55/15 in the garage originally for a different car. Would these be ok for 15" BBS, anyone else used them.

you can use them, but the diameter of the wheel will be slightly smaller than ideal
595.5mm instead of 606.5mm I estimate...........
