i reckon replace them. it looks like something is supposed to be there, if you know what i mean. how about trying colour coding the old strips and refitting them?
(photoshop, someone?)
EDIT:...
that said, i've never owned a M3 and it looks like the strips may be a stick on things and hard to colour code!

Hi Gareth
Yes they are sticker strips, not like the normal E30 inserts, when the number plate is fitted, it looks good...I think I will replace them though!

I'm a fan of white paint rightness, but sometimes it need something to break it up a little-keep it black

i wouldn't leave the gaps like that, i'd get it filled and smoothed and painted if I wanted no black...it makes it look like an mtech2 bumper (and FWIW i'd also get the gaps in that filled and smoothed and painted)
however the black strips don't look too bad, this is if you want a white bumper...

Not dissing Tech II, just think an M3 shouldn't look anything like a Sport if that makes sense

Defo replace the strip. Looks naked without, needs to be broken up a little.

I wasn't Tech II dissing honest, I've said more than once a Tech II kit "completes" an E30......what I
meant was Simon wouldn't want to risk an M car being mistaken for a Sport as it sped by due to no bumper strips
Though of course nothing wrong with Sports, they're just not M3s, though one like yours that laps M3s.....I'm digging a hole here aren't I?
