intensive wash woes
Moderator: martauto
what component would be the first place of call if my headlight intensive wash set up works on every application of the screen wash arm ....not the intensive function. it works even with the lights off .....not a bad problem but im forever filling the reservoirs up....the relay in the fuse box or the one attached to the reservoirs ....or what else should i look at
The headlight wiper system is triggered by the normal windscreen wipers and not the intensive wash system. It should operate every 5th time the windsreen washers are used, when the headlights are switched on.
The o/s headlight wiper motor is responsible for triggering the headlight washers. Quite often, when the the headlight washers incorrectly operate all of the time, it is due to a seized or incorrectly parked o/s headlight wiper.
Therefore firstly check the headlight wiper is completing it's sequence and parking correctly.
