Fitted an OBC this w/e on my 325i touring thanks to the excellent guide here on e30zone!
All seems to be working fine, although I'm going to have to learn how temperatures feel in Fahrenheit if I want to continue seeing my readings in miles instead of km's!
Just a couple of questions for the experts out there. On the temp sensor section of the loom I got with the OBC there is a black plug similar to the blue plug for the OBC horn. This ends up in the engine bay somewhere but I'm not sure where t plugs into and there doesn't appear to be a reference to it in the guide?
Also, in the interior part of the loom where 2 plugs are inserted in the main accessory point behind the glove box. I found the one for the red wire (single connector),but the green wire doesn't seem to fit into anything?
If someone has any ideas that would be great.
The OBC install is a great upgrade, just shows that BMW had plug and play sorted before Micro$oft!

Hitman

The spare socket under the bonnet is not used. Worked out what it was for once, but can't remember what now.
Are you talking about a connector with two green wires? This is the imobilizer connection into the ignition circuit. You''l find a matching plug tucked up in the loom above the glovebox, near where all the brown wires are earthed. It will already have a plug in it, but you will see this just has a loop of wire.

Cool... I think I'll leave the green wire unplugged then in case someone (probably me) decides it would be smart to set the code and it would no doubt be forgotten!
