looks like i'm taking the 335 to le mans this coming friday, and judging by previous years it'll get a bit of a hammering so i need to do a couple of nasty jobs on it this week in preparation

firstly i need to install an oil pump chain tensioner as the old one's broken, which means removing the front crank hub and timing chain covers
secondly the sump has to come off completely to install a sump gasket and remove/clean/correctly torque the oil pump and mountings.

i was going to remove the engine (m30 sump is almost but not quite impossible to remove in the e30!) but i'm wondering if it's less work to drop the cross-member down to get at the sump/oil pump. looks like just a few bolts, am i missing something or will it be fairly straightforward?
