I just put new connectors on the speedo sensor of the car I just sold. In the rush I forgot to take note of which wire went onto which connector on teh back of the diff.
Does it make any difference? I shouldn't have rushed to remove the old ones without checking.
What would the effect be of the wires being connect wrong?
Does it matter which way speedo sensor wires are connected?

erm, the speedo won't work probably
Sorry can't be anymore help, if it's 2 wires, if it works, fine, if it don't swap them round. I can't imagine it would do any harm, one of them is probably a ground anyway.

It will make no difference at all.
The sensor is basically a switch that opens and closes as the toothed wheel passes through it.
Cheers,
Ian.

Thanks guys,
Managed to get the wires off the back of my own diff last night, (it had the same repair done to it at some stage) swapped them round and checked the speedo. It worked as before.
