After all day getting this engine in nemo ive had a titfull
Its being a bitch to start wont sit at proper idle wants to run at 2k
And smokes
i give up
its doing my nut in i jus want to cry
still no nearer to getting the car sorted
Having problems with new engine

try usin nemos old ignition system and ICV on the new lump....

right idle down i got an air leak somewhere
but its till smokes slightly and a bit of a miss when you rev it
new plugs so coul be leads cap arm
also temp gauge is going nuts not sure if its the new clocks or the sensors
anyone knowwhat one is temp blue or brown

brown sensor is for gauge, blue for ECU.
If temp gauge is going through the roof, you have an airlock. CHECK THE HEATER IS GIVING OUT HOT AIR, or soon the idle will be irrelavent, as the engine will be scrap anyway.

heaters are spot on
temp flickering like mad though bellow half
changed sensor to one that i know was working
she running rich as fcuk as well why i dont know
swaping chips back to standard chip

The new clocks might have duff batteries causing guage flickage..
Blue/black smoke is probably down to mega rich mixture thats washing oil off the bores and then causing blue smoke as it burns the oil up.
Persevere (sp) with it mate...

im getting somewhere slowly
still running rich though and gauge is sorted its the clocks
still running a bit rogh as well
got someone comming to look at it in the week so i know whats what with it

temp gauge could be a loose nut that holds it in place
causing a dodgy earth
have heard cases where this solves the flickering needle
